New Orleans, Little Rock, Billings, Peoria, Olympia and Binghamton are the first cities to start testing for this section.
Localized users in that area may have the box to see information from local media.
The company says this initiative entered the Facebook Journalism Project, which was launched shortly after the recent presidential election in America, which launched an alert for the "Fake News" phenomenon.
In November, Facebook also rewrote its independent event app, calling it "Facebook Local," which will help users find restaurants and events.
